The venue was a bit unusual for me. If you can, check out the Westminster (MD) Town Mall. A lot of malls are struggling and closing, but this one seems to be making use of an opportunity: as the chains pull out, it's leaving space for a lot of the small, idiosyncratic, unique, bohemian kind of shops that used to make in person shopping fun. The place has a couple of different game/gaming shops, an arcade, some unique gift and craft stores, a real fabric store, and, in particular, my hosts: "Hyperspace Rockets & Tea". They're a hobby shop and tea emporium. Cool, huh? The nice lady there conceived of this whole winter festival with all kinds of fun vendors and activities, and for the bulk of the afternoon, I got to be the soundtrack. I got to stretch back out into some neglected parts of my busking repertoire and it was INDOORS! The bonus was that I got to play for some actual friends live and in person! (A surprising number of them, in fact!) Anyway look for that venue some more. We've been talking and it looks like there will be some Sunday afternoons where I'll be invited to come hang out and serenade whomever shows up. That could be YOU! As a matter of fact the first one will be: SUNDAY February 11, starting at around 1pm. Yes I know that there will be superb owls to watch on TV, but if that's not your thing, come, sit back, and hear me live and IN PERSON!!
