This set fell right between 4th of July and
Bastille Day, and the song choices reflected
a lot of my feelings of late. I confess, there
is an anger in it.

When I was young, I truly felt, watching
the progress in the world, that things were
getting better for people. More people were
more free as time went on. I loooked forward
to all of these songs of protest and revolution
becoming quaint reminders that we tried and
succeeded in living up to our ideals. As I
became a Bard, I thought that keeping these
songs alive would serve as milestones of how
far we've come. Instead, they're still current,
or current again, or proving to be chillingly
prophetic.

That said, it was a great set and many
corners of the repertoire got to be represented:
old favourites, new acquisitions, a bit of
original music, and a nice diversity of sounds
and styles.

Thanks to everyone who tuned in. The next
one will be on July 21st.
