My Halloween sets rank among my favourites, and this was
no exception. It was a rich and diverse set. There were
lots of ghosts, monsters, mischief, and rare full Halloween
Moon. I got to play some old favourites, of course. I had
a sweet interactive scheme for people to help me
pick songs from a list much too long for one night. There
were some great contributions on my other instruments.
For a bit further of a change, I recited a couple of my
creepy poems. I began the set honouring the passing of a
dear friend. And my personal highlight was a debut of my
arrangement of "Little Orphant Annie" a friend turned me on
to the poem years ago, and suggested I set it to music.
It seemed pretty farfetched that a classic poem that good
and singable had not been set to music already. Sure
enough, I found an actual period setting for it, and created
an arrangement I'm really proud of! Expect to hear this
alot in the future!

And then I ended the night with a couple of requests, one
of which I'm pretty sure was enthusiastically echoed by
my passed friend as it was one of *her* favourites.
